ABOUT US
KEE BOTANICAL GARDENS
KEE Botanical Gardens is a unique 15-acre natural sanctuary with over 6000 tree species, founded by Dr. Mike Mwendwa, a passionate herbal researcher, conservationist, and natural healer dedicated to restoring the power of indigenous medicine.
Our Story
Founded in 2016, the land that is now KEE Botanical Gardens was once degraded and destroyed. Through dedication, conservation, and patience, it has been restored over 10 years into a thriving natural ecosystem.
Driven by a lifelong love for nature and a deep spiritual calling, Dr. Mike Mwendwa transformed the land into a place where:
- Nature heals
- People learn
- Indigenous knowledge is preserved
Even after surviving a life-threatening attack, Dr. Mwendwa continued his mission — using his own herbal medicine to recover and strengthen his belief in natural healing.
OUR MISSION
To conserve nature, preserve indigenous medicinal trees, and provide natural, chemical-free healing solutions for humanity.

At some point at the exhibition, curated by the founder and director, Dr. Mike Mwendwa, achieved an impressive score of 90% in 2015, ranking among the highest ever recorded at the festival and has never gone down. This achievement highlights the garden’s commitment to excellence in showcasing indigenous knowledge and natural healing.
The exhibition has always been commended for its outstanding presentation of a wide variety of live traditional medicinal plants and herbal products, which attracted significant interest from participants and visitors alike. Notably, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage, Peninah Malonza, alongside her Director of Culture, during one of the festivals, visited the exhibition and held in-depth discussions, further affirming the growing impact and national relevance of KEE Botanical Gardens.
